Cosmetica is the go-to trendsetter in custom cosmetic development and manufacturing. Located in Toronto, Canada, their 270,000 square foot facility accommodates state-of-the-art R&D and QA/QC laboratories, along along with manufacturing capabilities across a wide range of makeup and skincare products.
Our Approach
Cosmetica executives were interested in redesigning the entire production floor at their Toronto facility, while also concurrently re-engineering the site’s mechanical infrastructure. Our long history of providing energy management services made us a natural partner for this project, and our subject-matter experts worked with Cosmetica to come up with a list of personalized goals, including the modernization of the HVAC system to support cosmetic manufacturing plus improved efficiency across their lighting, compressed air and HVAC control systems.
The Results
- Through effectively leveraging government incentives and increases in energy efficiency, we were able to replace all of the facility’s outdated equipment with the energy savings generated from the new equipment – virtually at no cost.
- Reduced the facility’s natural gas usage by 25% and its electricity usage by 47%.
- Achieved massive improvements in air quality control through the installation of ten efficient air handlers.
