American International College (AIC) is a private, coeducational institute located in central Springfield, MA. AIC was founded in 1885 and is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education, housing over 3,300 undergraduate and graduate students.
In 2012, C&W Services established a partnership with AIC providing IFM services on campus. We have continued to develop that partnership with service expansion in 2015 providing copy/print services in AIC’s Schwartz Student Center for faculty and staff members.
CHALLENGE
AIC’s internal marketing department struggled to maintain workflow due to high-demand proofs, print quotes, logistics and delivery. The marketing department was distracted from their core competency of providing timely graphic materials to the AIC Community.
SOLUTION
C&W Services’ Copy Center, consisting of two employees, partnered with the marketing director and marketing staff to alleviate the increased production by managing quotes, proofs, and other materials. The marketing department and copy center collaborate on projects to determine if they can be produced in-house or if an approved external vendor is required. If so, the copy center works with a vendor for the project, providing continuous communication to the marketing department on pricing, proofs, and delivery.
RESULTS
Through this collaboration, C&W Services has increased the number of marketing department work orders for special print jobs by over 350% from 2016 to 2018. C&W Services’ Copy Center now partners with the marketing department to support approximately 15% of the production orders.
The marketing department can focus on their graphic design work and has confidence in the copy center to manage the print work, meet deadlines and ensure quality control. This collaboration has optimized internal cost control and centralized billing and tracking within AIC’s marketing department.
