Holly Borrego joined C&W Services in July 2016 as the senior director of cleaning services. Her responsibilities include developing and implementing our strategy in support of our cleaning services line. Previously, she worked at ISS Facility Services as the director of cleaning services for North America and served on the International Cleaning Excellence team.

To get a look into Holly and her career, we asked her a number of questions. Herewith, a look into her path to C&W Services.

1. How did you hear about C&W Services, and what did you know about us when you started to consider joining the company?

A recruiter contacted me about a job opening at C&W Services. I didn’t know much about the company because I wasn’t aware that it previously had been DTZ Services, which was previously the UNICCO Service Company. I had a great deal of respect for DTZ Services but had not competed against them very often.

2. What got you excited about C&W Services? About the role?

I was very excited about the position because I understood the value it would bring to the company. Once I met Steve Herbst, vice president, service performance and development, I felt he and I were on the same page with regard to value creation, metrics and optimization. I knew I would enjoy working for him, and I was also excited to work for a US-based company. The struggles we face in the US are different than some of the struggles in European companies, and there are times when these differences can impede our business progress. This interests me.

3. How did C&W Services seem different and better than other firms you’ve been with or considered?

C&W Services has a much more collaborative approach. Everything is focused on keeping the workforce safe and delivering value to the customer. There is less of a corporate mindset and more of a customer mindset.

There also is a much higher focus on operations and processes that are measured to bring value to the services—less of a departmental approach, which creates silos and can lead to operational bottlenecks.

A lot of companies talk about valuing their employees, but C&W Services actually demonstrates their commitment through safety, training, opportunities and better benefits for their team.

4. Now that you’re here, what would you say to persuade a recruit to join C&W Services?

I would say a recruit will not be disappointed and will be happy they made the change. If you truly want a collaborative, productive environment where employees and customers are the main focus, this is the place to be.
