Two of our thought leaders presented on enlightening topics at November’s NFMT.
Terry Vergon, director or engineering and maintenance, and Ken Stack, vice president of facility management solutions and transitions, both presented on their respective specialties at NFMT in Las Vegas Nov. 1—2.
On Nov. 1, Terry presented ?Data Centers: The Maintenance We Miss.” His presentation focused on maintenance budgets, many of which are underfunded. But maintenance is a necessary investment and needs to be based on the skills and knowledge of people. He discussed ways to balance maintenance and training spending to avoid human error and ways in which to justify budgeting to maximize reliability.

Ken presented ?Pay Now, or Pay Later! Justifying a Proactive Maintenance Program ? on Nov. 2. Those who attended his presentation learned how to create the business case for the right maintenance model for their own organization and how to evaluate the merits of maintenance approaches against business objectives. Also discussed were the maintenance options and costs available to determine the return on a proactive maintenance or run to fail model.
