From humble beginnings as a janitor, to being honored with the Si Se Puede [Yes, It Can Be Done] Award at the Mike Garcia Scholarship Gala, Juan Rivas Rbbbamirez’s journey is an inspiring testament to determination and the pursuit of excellence. On October 5, Juan, a C&W Services Janitorial Supervisor, was honored with the Si Se Puede Award from the Building Skills Partnership (BSP). Based in Los Angeles, BSP is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for those in low-wage industries to address the barriers immigrant workers face.
BSP plays a key role in helping people integrate into the United States by focusing on three main strategies: workforce development programs, immigrant inclusion, and community advancement. During gala events, BSP acknowledges outstanding individuals from the business, foundation, and worker communities, shining a spotlight on those who have made significant contributions to BSP programs, or the broader community.
The Si Se Puede Award is specifically presented to a dedicated BSP member who has made a lasting impact. Six years ago, Juan arrived in the U.S. from El Salvador in pursuit of new job opportunities. Starting as a janitor, he aspired to grow beyond basic cleaning tasks. Through BSP, Juan has received training in digital literacy, ESL, and financial capabilities – skills that he actively puts to use in his daily responsibilities.
C&W Services is proud to partner with nonprofit organizations like Building Skills Partnership, and we value the investment in our employees, communities, and future leaders. Juan is a dedicated team member and has worked tirelessly in support of one of our technology clients in Redwood City, CA.
Congratulations to Juan for this well-deserved recognition and award!
