At Nissan Stadium, home to the Tennessee Titans and countless concerts and events, keeping the facility clean and sustainable is no small task. With more than 60,000 fans filling the venue on any given night, the operations team turned to C&W Services to help manage recycling, waste diversion, and stadium readiness. Together, they’ve built a program that not only diverts hundreds of thousands of pounds of material from landfills each year but also ensures the stadium consistently exceeds fan and leadership expectations.

Recycling and Sustainability Made Real
At Nissan Stadium, sustainability has become more than a goal—it’s a practice woven into every event. Through a partnership with C&W Services, the stadium diverted more than 200,000 pounds of material from landfills last year, including over 1.5 million bottles and cans.

“This past year, we were able to divert a little over 200,000 pounds from the landfill, and that included over 1.5 million bottles and cans,” said James Arel, Stadium Ops and Sustainability, Nissan Stadium. “C&W really spearheads making the whole system work—from the double bulk pick to the sorting process. They are the catalyst that makes it a success.”

Seamlessness Behind the Scenes
The program, launched from a concept introduced by Coca-Cola, is powered by careful collection and sorting. Recycling is gathered from seating areas, suites, and concourse bins before being processed to remove contamination and prepared for baling.

“Last season we recycled over 1.5 million items, including glass bottles, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles,” explained Lauren Williams, Project Manager, Osprey Initiative. “We collect from every part of the stadium, then sort through everything to make sure it’s clean, ready, and bale-ready.”

For stadium leadership, this partnership provides confidence that the venue will always be ready for fans. “For me, it’s peace of mind,” shared Bob Flynn, Vice President of Facilities, Nissan Stadium. “We’ve made incredible strides in the past five years with C&W. I get comments all the time from leadership and premium guests about how good the stadium looks every day.”

A Partnership That Elevates the Stadium
The collaboration has gone far beyond recycling—raising cleanliness standards and enhancing the fan experience. From turning around the building for 60,000-person events to ensuring every detail is ready for guests, C&W’s presence has transformed operations.

“I just can’t talk enough about the partnership with Nissan and with C&W,” said Tommie Harris, Account Manager, C&W Services at Nissan Stadium. “They appreciate the work we do, and that makes you feel good about giving quality service that really matters.”

Flynn agrees: “There are two hard jobs in this business—janitorial and event staffing. C&W does an incredible job keeping this building ready to go. We’re a much better organization and stadium for having them as part of our partnership. Two seasons ago, we never thought we’d get here, and now we expect to do even more.”

From recycling millions of bottles and cans to ensuring every seat and suite is event-ready, C&W Services helps facilities deliver both sustainability impact and unforgettable experiences for fans and guests.
