• A group of people working on a floor in a building.
  • A room with a broken door and paper on the floor.
  • An office with a long wooden stick on the floor.
  • A flooded room with a couch and a chair.
  • An air conditioning unit is hanging from the ceiling in a room.

Earlier this month, our clients and team members in the Boston, MA, area were impacted by a cold weather system that brought freezing temperatures to 10 of our Northeast Region clients’ buildings. Several pipes unexpectedly burst from the cold snap, and turned their facilities into a flood zone.

C&W Services crews quickly responded to all client buildings and provided emergency services to HVAC issues, pipes bursting, flood mitigation and clean-up, and restoration calls. The teams worked tirelessly through the weekend to oversee and maintain the cleanup to ensure the 10 accounts were open and operational the next morning.

Here’s what Michael Kearns, Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston had to say:

“I want to compliment your team here at UMB for their efforts this past weekend with all of the burst pipe clean ups.  Pamela, John, Fernando, Tony and all of your staff worked tirelessly to help us out of numerous bad situations.  Your team worked hard and cheerfully throughout it all and I am sure very long hours. Without their dedication to us and their work ethic we would still be cleaning up today.  But because of their help, campus opened this morning with little visible impacts of the leaks to the UMB community. We very much appreciate your team here at UMB.”

We’d like to recognize and sincerely thank our C&W Services employees and Special Services Group for their support during the flood.Â
