C&W Services is proud to operate and serve clients in Canada, and we wish all of our facilities team members a wonderful Canada Day. Below, we’ve included some history of Canada Day and general guidelines for flag display. After all, when we say we care for janitorial, maintenance, landscaping, and office services for our clients, that often includes caring for flags at their headquarters, offices, and other facilities.

The holiday falls on July 1.

Canada Day celebrates the 1867 joining of the British North American colonies of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the Province of Canada in a federation of four colonies; the province of Canada was later divided into Quebec and Ontario. The holiday is celebrated on July 1 every year and was once referred to as Dominion Day. For years, it was not considered a calendar holiday, but as time passed, people began appreciating the importance of the day and the celebrations grew in size. Many companies and businesses take the day off to recognize the country’s birthday.Towns host parades, fireworks, festivals, barbecues and free concerts.

Caring for the flag is just as important as the holiday itself.

As a team of facility services providers, we care about every aspect of your space, whether that means maintenance and engineering issues, office cleanliness and efficiency, or even seemingly small but incredibly important details like proper flag management. Canada Day is a great time to check in on how we care for Canadian flags that are displayed at our properties.
