Spotlight on the ISSA Hygieia Network.
The ISSA Hygieia Network is built on the idea that, with help and support, female frontline staff can achieve career advancement in the janitorial and cleaning industry.
In fact, Holly Borrego, our senior director of cleaning services, began her career cleaning bathrooms as a frontline janitor and held every field-level operations position on her way to her current leadership role. For Holly, her field experience is what makes her stand out in the corporate world, and she wants to help other women achieve this same kind of advancement. That is why she helped found the ISSA Hygieia Network and continues to serve as a member of its founding council. With her support, the network has provided ongoing education, networking, professional development, and personal recognition awards to many women working in the industry.
Getting involved.
The Hygieia Network is open to all ISSA members, and joining is easy. You can register on the ISSA’s website. Also, in the spirit of The Hygieia Network, Environmental Services & Housekeeping Week began Sept. 10, so be sure to thank everyone who works hard to keep your facility clean and safe.
